Cochrane property tax bills due June 30; penalties apply as of July 1

Reminder to pay Cochrane property taxes by June 30

Cochrane, AB – June 30 marks the official deadline for property owners who are not enrolled in the Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) to submit their payments before late penalties are applied. As of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, a seven percent penalty will be applied to any outstanding property tax balances for both residential and commercial properties in town.

Property owners can pay their taxes through online banking, by mail, in person at Town facilities or through after-hours drop boxes. Residents paying through online banking are encouraged to allow sufficient processing time before the June 30 deadline. New homeowners who have not yet received their property tax bill due to pending land title transfers are encouraged to contact the Town before the deadline to avoid penalties.

Payment options include:

  • Through online, telephone or in-person banking using your tax roll number
  • By mail to the Town of Cochrane
  • In person at the RancheHouse, The Station or Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)
  • Through after-hours drop boxes at the RancheHouse or FCSS

Residents looking for a more flexible payment option in future years can enroll in the Town’s Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP), which divides annual property taxes into manageable monthly payments automatically withdrawn on the 15th of each month. For more information, visit cochrane.ca/tipp.
