Event details
Our Beginner Wheel Throwing Class is designed for complete beginners—no experience necessary! Over 6 fun and relaxed weekly sessions, you'll learn the fundamentals of pottery while creating beautiful handmade pieces you'll be proud to use, gift, or display.
Our experienced instructors will guide you step-by-step through the entire process, from your very first lump of clay to beautifully glazed pottery ready to take home.
During this class you'll learn:
🏺 How to wedge and prepare clay
🏺 How to center clay on the pottery wheel
🏺 How to throw cylinders, bowls, mugs, and other functional forms
🏺 How to trim and refine your pieces
🏺 Basic handle attachment and finishing techniques
🏺 Glazing techniques to add colour and personality to your work
By the end of the session, you'll have developed a solid foundation in wheel throwing, greater confidence working with clay, and a collection of unique handmade pottery you'll enjoy for years to come.
What's Included?
✔️ Six weekly classes with an experienced instructor
✔️ One bag of clay
✔️ Glazes and firing of your class projects
✔️ Use of studio tools and equipment during class
✔️ A welcoming, supportive environment where beginners can learn at their own pace
Is this class right for me?
Absolutely! This class is designed specifically for people with little or no pottery experience. Whether you've always wanted to try pottery, are looking for a creative hobby, or simply want to spend a few hours each week making something with your hands, you'll fit right in.
Our classes are intentionally kept small so everyone receives plenty of individual instruction, encouragement, and hands-on coaching throughout the course.
🎟️ Spaces are limited, and our beginner classes regularly sell out, so be sure to reserve your spot early!
We can't wait to welcome you into the studio and help you discover just how rewarding pottery can be.
