In this guided, beginner-friendly introduction to soapstone carving, participants will learn basic carving techniques, safe material handling, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust.
With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece.
The emphasis is on process, experimentation, and creative confidence rather than artistic perfection.
No prior experience is required, and each participant will leave with a completed stone carving they created themselves.

On January 27, in celebration of Family Literacy Day, we will be having a special all ages storytime with Seniors for Kids in place of your regularly scheduled Movers and Shakers!
