What to Expect:
Artists will have an exciting opportunity to participate in the Come Paint Alberta Plein Air Circuit by registering for this fun, six-day event organized by the Route 22 Artist Collective!
For this upcoming Art in the Park, we are opening up the week leading up to September 29 to allow plein air artists more time to paint during the opening hours of the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation. This will help accommodate busy artists and/or unpredictable weather. Artist will be requried to have their canvas supports stamped with the offical CPA stamp at the Route 22 Gallery during gallery hours before heading out to plein air paint.
Artists will head to the historic Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation (GRPF) to set up for some inspiring plein air painting. GRPF golf carts will be assisting with shuttling artists and their materials around the park. The GRPF tourist center will be open, but it is advisable to bring a packed lunch and water bottles as there are no other food services on site.
Parking at Glenbow Ranch Park is limited, so carpooling with a fellow artist from the Route 22 Gallery parking lot is also highly recommended!

***artist commission is 60% of the hammer price, and remaining proceeds will go towards supporting programs at Route 22 Gallery and Come Paint Alberta**

The Cochrane Public Library is pleased to present an artist meet and greet with Calgary artist Kelly Isaak in conjunction with her TREX (Travelling Exhibition Program) exhibition, "Alone Together," on display at the library from April 17 to May 14, 2025.

"Alone Together" is a solo exhibition of hyper-realistic pencil crayon portraits by Kelly Isaak. These are not just generic portraits; during one of the more severe COVID-19 lockdowns in Alberta, Isaak invited people on Instagram to submit their isolation photographs, which she then drew. Isaak's work captures a communal familiarity in the isolated experiences we faced. The series shines a light on those times when we felt alone, yet navigated those moments together as a community.

Join us for this special opportunity to meet Kelly Isaak and hear her discuss "Alone Together," her artistic process, and the stories behind her captivating portraits. Time permitting, Kelly will also lead a short drawing demonstration for attendees.
