Cochrane Celebrates Community Volunteers During National Volunteer Week

(Cochrane, AB) – Sunday launched the start of National Volunteer Week, running from April 16 to 22, 2023. In celebration, Cochrane is honouring the many active volunteers serving the Cochrane community.

Recognizing the generous contributions of Cochrane’s many local volunteers, Cochrane's Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is showing appreciation by gifting various social non-profit organizations with a small gift of appreciation for each recognized volunteer.

“We are so fortunate to have a strong community of volunteers here in Cochrane. So many have selflessly dedicated their time and resources to helping others,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of Family and Community Support Services, Town of Cochrane. “This week, we celebrate the volunteers whose empathy, compassion and generosity connect people to the community, contributing to a more vibrant and inclusive space for everyone.”

This annual celebration, hosted by Volunteer Canada is a time to thank and recognize volunteers from coast to coast to coast. This year’s theme is “Volunteering Weaves us Together,” strengthening the fabric of our community by sharing time, talent and energy to support one another.
