Envision Cochrane 2050 is Cochrane’s municipal development plan. This Plan provides a long-range vision that will guide future development on all private and public lands within Cochrane’s boundaries. All municipalities in Alberta are required to create a municipal development plan under the Province of Alberta’s Municipal Government Act. As a decision-making tool, a municipal development plan guides Council, administration, developers and members of the public in all planning decisions that impact land use, transportation systems, services and the environment.

For water related emergencies, please call the Operations After-hours Requests line at 403-851-2590.

Water accumulating on the street? 

You may be located near a trap low. Trap lows are a part of the stormwater storage system, allowing water to pool on roads, lanes and in greenspaces.

It may appear that the street is flooding up to and, sometimes, including some of your driveway or lawn. It is not.

If the water does not drain within 24 hours after rainfall, please contact Cochrane Operations at 403-851-2590.
