Join us for a fascinating historical journey into the heart of one of the greatest Arctic mysteries—the search for Sir John Franklin and his lost expedition.

William Pullen, great-grandnephew of the Captain of HMS North Star, brings to life the dramatic and often harrowing story of the Belcher Expedition (1852–1854) - the final and largest mission to locate Franklin. Learn about the many efforts to find the missing explorer and gain a rare glimpse into daily life aboard North Star, frozen in Arctic ice for two brutal winters at Beechey Island.

Discover the resilience, hardship, and hope that defined this historic quest. The presentation will be followed by an open Q&A and discussion.

Come Paint Alberta | Route 22 Plein Air Festival 2026

Join us for a vibrant and inspiring week of outdoor painting, creativity, and community as we celebrate Alberta’s breathtaking landscapes through plein air art.

Hosted by Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery in partnership with the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation and Come Paint Alberta, this festival invites artists of all levels and ages to get outside and create.

Registration for Art in the Park is now open!

This week-long event features:

• Plein Air Painting Days ~ at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, open from sunrise to sunset (6am-10pm)

• Plein Air Painting Workshops ~ at Glenbow Ranch Park (Online Registration Required)

• Daily Wet Paint Sale ~ showcasing the incredible original plein air artwork by participating artists, that will be on display in Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery in Downtown Cochrane

• Wet Paint Sale & Soirée Event! ~ to end the week, on Saturday, May 30, from 4 - 8 PM at Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery

Water accumulating on the street? 

You may be located near a trap low. Trap lows are a part of the stormwater storage system, allowing water to pool on roads, lanes and in greenspaces.

It may appear that the street is flooding up to and, sometimes, including some of your driveway or lawn. It is not.

If the water does not drain within 24 hours after rainfall, please contact Cochrane Operations at 403-851-2590.
