This program is designed for children aged 5 to 8.

This FREE program includes a child-friendly series of movement poses, mindful activities, and readings to encourage the development of mindful awareness for children.
Studies have shown that continuous participation in a mindful movement program provides children with a multitude of benefits, including but not limited to better academic results, increased focus, increased strength and flexibility in the body and a better night’s sleep.

Discover the beauty and meaning behind Indigenous ribbon skirts in this interactive workshop led by Kelly Gordon of Alberta Land based Education. Participants will explore the cultural significance of ribbon skirts while creating their own mini version using hand-sewing techniques.

This program is open to all ages; however, children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for assistance with sewing. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn practical skills, connect with Indigenous traditions, and celebrate cultural heritage.

Explore the teachings and traditions behind the Indigenous tipi in this interactive workshop led by Kelly Gordon of Alberta Landbased Education. Participants will learn about the cultural importance of tipis and gain insight into how they are traditionally constructed and set up in real life. Through this hands-on experience, you’ll create your own mini tipi while deepening your understanding of its role in Indigenous culture and community life.

This program is open to ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to assist with assembly. It’s a unique opportunity to learn practical skills, connect with Indigenous traditions, and celebrate cultural heritage.

This event is proudly supported by the Ethnocultural Grant from the Government of Alberta as part of Weaving Connections: Indigenous Culture, History, and Healing, an initiative dedicated to fostering understanding and cultural appreciation.

You may be located near a trap low. Trap lows are a part of the stormwater storage system, allowing water to pool on roads, lanes and in greenspaces.

It may appear that the street is flooding up to and, sometimes, including some of your driveway or lawn. It is not.

If the water does not drain within 24 hours after rainfall, please contact Cochrane Operations at 403-851-2590.
