This is where literary masterpieces meet culinary creativity. Imagine your favorite books transformed into stunning, edible art.

Edible Book Day is a global event celebrated around April 1st, where book lovers and artists unite to create and display incredible "edible books". Think book covers made of cake, characters crafted from cookies, or scenes sculpted from sandwiches! While we won't be eating the creations themselves, we'll have a blast with fun, edible activities for all ages. It's all about sharing good books, creative ideas, and building community.

So, Cochrane, unleash your inner bookworm and artist, and join us for a day of delicious visual delights!

The Cochrane Public Library are challenging you to create an edible book creation inspired by your favourite literary work for our second ever Edible Book Day!!

So how does it work?
1. Create your edible entry at home based on your favourite book
2. Drop off your creation at the Library from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, April 5
3. View other creations and vote for your favourite in each category
4. Winners are announced and prizes are awarded!

Cochrane Council is once again rallying behind the Edmonton Oilers in their bid for the Stanley Cup. In a show of support for Alberta’s team, Cochrane will raise the Oilers flag at The Station at Cochrane Crossing (360 Railway St W, Cochrane, AB).  

Community members are invited to participate in the flag raising ceremony on Wednesday, June 4 at 2 p.m.

Water accumulating on the street? 

You may be located near a trap low. Trap lows are a part of the stormwater storage system, allowing water to pool on roads, lanes and in greenspaces.

It may appear that the street is flooding up to and, sometimes, including some of your driveway or lawn. It is not.

If the water does not drain within 24 hours after rainfall, please contact Cochrane Operations at 403-851-2590.
