Memorial Furniture Program

Program information

Memorial Tables and Benches are considered a donation to the Town of Cochrane from the purchaser and become part of our regularly maintained infrastructure for their expected lifespan.

Donated furniture will be placed on municipally owned land at a mutually agreed upon location in playgrounds/parks/open spaces and along pathways.

There is a ten-year (10) guarantee of furniture maintenance however the furniture will remain in place as long as it is serviceable beyond the 10 year period. When the furniture is no longer serviceable, attempts will be made to contact the applicant and give them the opportunity to purchase a new bench under the terms and conditions in effect at that time. This location will be made available for another donation if the purchaser cannot be reached or they decline the offer to purchase a new memorial bench or table.

The plaque will be maintained for the furniture's lifespan however, in the event a plaque sustains irreparable damage, a one-time replacement will be provided by the Town.

Full payment is required to secure the location of choice and receive a donation receipt.

The program accepts applications starting January 1st annually and the Town reserves the right to limit the number of pieces of furntiure installed to a maximum of 6 items. Annual program applications will close on May 31st or when the maximum number of Memorial furniture pieces have been donated, whichever comes first.
