All dogs and cats over three months old must have a current Cochrane animal licence.
Dogs and cats must always wear a current licence when off their owner’s property. Licences also help Animal Services contact you to quickly return your dog or cat if they ever go missing. It also lets strangers know that your furry loved one is not a stray and wants to be reunited with their family.
Register your animal
Send a completed application to animal.licences@cochrane.ca or visit the Cochrane Customer Service Desk at RancheHouse (101 RancheHouse Rd.) or the Station at Cochrane Crossing (360 Railway St W) during regular office hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m to complete your animal licence in-person.
Animal licence fees cover the calendar year from January 1 to December 31. Renewal notices are sent in January each year for registered owners.
We encourage pet owners to keep their account information up to date. Please notify us of any of the following:
- if you no longer live in Cochrane or have moved within Cochrane
- if you no longer have your animal (deceased or no longer in your care)
- any other changes (altered/tattoo/microchip)
