Cochrane Fire Services Launches Annual 'be Summer Safe' Campaign

(Cochrane, AB) – For a second year, Cochrane Fire Services is bringing back its seasonal ‘be summer safe’ campaign, reminding residents to keep safety top of mind this summer.

Running from July 10 to August 30, Cochrane will share weekly safety tips and information to help residents stay vigilant and be safe while enjoying summer activities. The seven-week campaign will cover a range of topics, including grill, fire pit and water safety, information on Cochrane’s fire danger rating, tips to beat the heat and more.

“Recognizing its importance, we want to encourage residents to keep safety at the forefront this summer,” says Shawn Polley, Fire Chief, Town of Cochrane. “The ‘be summer safe’ campaign urges Cochranites to stay informed, look out for one another and embrace responsible practices to help minimize potential risks and enjoy summer to its fullest.”

In addition, Cochrane Fire Services will be out in the community sharing safety information to help residents understand the risks and make summer-safe decisions.
