(Cochrane, AB) – Recently, Cochrane Administration have witnessed a number of serious allegations regarding Cochrane Town staff and members of Council, both through social media channels as well as through letters to the editor in our local newspapers.
Last week, a letter to the editor was published in the Cochrane Eagle. The choice of words and very serious allegations made in this letter have the potential to erode public trust, which is why we find it necessary to issue this statement.
The allegations contained in this letter are without evidence and appear to be made without due consideration. Their potential impact on the Cochrane community should not be underestimated. While we refrain from speculating on the motivations behind these allegations and others from certain members of our community, we are resolute in our commitment to protecting our dedicated staff, who adhere to ethical, professional, and responsible business practices as we work toward the betterment of our thriving community.
Our commitment remains centered on diligently serving the best interests of Cochrane taxpayers. It is imperative that unfounded allegations against the Municipality, as published, are addressed. We will consider all avenues, including legal action, to protect the reputation of staff, Council and ultimately the community as we uphold the integrity of our operations.
