The Cochrane Seniors Property Tax Support Program will provide a $500 rebate on municipal property taxes for eligible seniors.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a minimum of 60 years old.
- Applicants must be a residential property owner in Cochrane and be living in the residence of ownership.
- Applicants must not own any other property.
- Applicants must meet minimum income guidelines set out by the Alberta Seniors Benefit Program and passed by Council. Each owner on title is considered.
- For one owner on title, income must be under $31,080. For two owners on title, income information is combined and the combined incomes must be under $50,720. However, upon submission of involuntary separation documentation, only the income of the individual residing in the residence will be considered in the evaluation of the program application.*
* Income amounts are adjusted by the Alberta Seniors Benefit Program annually in July.

- All applicants are required to complete an annual application. Returning applicants are welcome to drop by FCSS to fill out their form
- All applicants must show their 2024 Revenue Canada Income Tax Notice of Assessment (NOA)
- All applicants must show their 2025 Property Tax bill
- All owners on the title must apply under the same application and be present at the appointment.
- Deadline for all applications must be completed by December 31 of current year.
