Here’s everything you need to take part in shaping Cochrane’s future.
Voter registration: This year, the Province of Alberta requires all eligible voters to be on the Permanent Electors Register (voting list). Pre-registration was encouraged before September 14, that window has now closed, but if you haven’t checked your status or signed up yet, don’t worry — you can still register in person at your voting station during the advance polls or on Election Day, October 20.
You are eligible to vote if you:
are at least 18 years old;
are a Canadian citizen; and
your place of residence is located in the local jurisdiction where you are voting on election day
In order to vote, you must prove your identity and address.
You will need to provide government issued ID that includes your photo, current address and name. If you are unable to produce government issued identification, you will need to produce one piece of identification (as approved by Returning Officer under the Election Act) that establishes your name and current address.
If you are only living in Cochrane temporarily (example: just for the school year) and you normally live in another community, plan to return home to vote or contact your home municipality for voting options.

Eligible voters can cast their vote at a voting station of their choice during Advance Vote or Election Day.
