Description
An accessible multi-sport court facility is being generously donated to Cochrane by Project Jumpstart. The project includes site grading, construction of sturdy foundations for play courts. Additionally, the installation of electrical service and lighting infrastructure is part of the plan to provide essential amenities for the facility.
When it is complete it will include:
- Adjustable height basketball nets
- Sport and Para Sport lines for various net sports
- And a self-guided play area
Project updates
- After an RFP evaluation, a contractor has been awarded to complete stage 1 of the project, which is to prepare the site for stage 2 or the construction of the Jumpstart Play Courts.
- Contractor has mobilized on site and perimeter fencing has been installed around the construction site.
- Stage 1, which includes the foundation, is planned for completion by September 2024.
- Stage 2, includes the above grade section of the project (surfacing, lights, bleacher, etc.) is planned for completion in Fall 2024.
- Weather permitting, final landscaping will be completed in late summer of 2024 or early 2025.
- Public opening of the play courts is planned for Spring 2025.
