Applications are now open for Cochrane’s Community Investment Grant Program (CIGP), offering matching funding to non-profit organizations for projects, events, and festivals that enhance recreation, arts, culture, and community engagement. Eligible groups can apply for small-and large-scale grants until May 1, 2025. To further support applicants, the Town of Cochrane is hosting an informational webinar on March 24, 2025, providing guidance on the application process and answering common questions.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in the Community Investment Grants, and this webinar is an opportunity to help non-profits navigate the application process and access the funding they need to bring their initiatives to life,” says Michelle Delorme, Director of Parks & Active Living. “We’re also reviewing the program to explore enhancements, such as transit support for events, recreation training opportunities, and a new operational grant policy to better support local organizations. This is not just about funding - it’s also an opportunity to hear directly from non-profits about how we can refine the program to better serve their needs.”
In 2024, the CIGP funded 41 small-scale projects and six large-scale events - an 81% increase from the previous year. Applications will be evaluated based on their alignment with community goals, the CIGP framework, and Cochrane’s strategic plan. The program includes the community association support grant, small-scale matching grant, and large-scale matching grant, with a total of $130,400 in available funding.
