Hyndman has served the Town for 11 years, most recently as Executive Director of Development & Infrastructure Services. He previously served as Acting CAO from February to December 2020, providing leadership through a period of organizational growth and transition.
A Certified Local Government Manager with more than 25 years of municipal experience, Hyndman is recognized for his collaborative leadership, strategic approach and commitment to continuous improvement. His career includes building strong relationships, supporting high-performing teams and advancing initiatives that contribute to community well-being.
"I have had the pleasure of working closely with Drew for more than a decade. I know that he has the organizational knowledge and leadership experience needed to deliver on our community's priorities," said Mayor Nagel. "Council is confident that we'll be able to work well together with our new interim CAO, to start our term off on a very positive note."
“I am honoured to continue serving the Town of Cochrane in this role,” said Hyndman. “I look forward to working with Council, staff and the community as we build on our progress and pursue opportunities that strengthen Cochrane’s future.”
As Hyndman assumes the role of Interim CAO, Shane Hubl has been appointed Acting Executive Director of Development & Infrastructure Services to support continuity of services and ongoing project delivery.
Town Council extends their appreciation to former CAO Mike Derricott for his leadership and contributions to the Town of Cochrane over the past four years.
