
A reminder to property owners that all outstanding property tax payments are due by December 31, 2025.
This includes supplemental property tax bills. Payments not received by December 31 will be subject to a 15% penalty starting January 1, 2026, as required by legislation.
Cochrane offers a variety of payment methods for property taxes, including:
Bank or credit union payments
You can pay taxes in person or online through your financial institution’s online or mobile banking service.
To set up online banking:
- Add a new bill payee — look for “Cochrane Taxes Alberta” or “Town of Cochrane Taxes Alberta”
- Do not select payees labelled “ON” or “Ontario”
- Use your roll number for the account number
Drop box payments
Payments can be dropped off any time outside of regular business hours. Two drop box locations are available:
- Family & Community Support Services (209 Second Ave. W.)
- Cochrane RancheHouse (101 RancheHouse Rd.)
Paying by mail
Mail payments (cheque or money orders only) to:

- Write your tax roll number on the cheque and include the return portion of the tax bill
- If your cheque is postdated, ensure it is dated on or before the due date
- The envelope must be postmarked by Canada Post on or before the due date
In person with Cochrane Customer Service at:
- The Station at Cochrane Crossing (360 Railway St. W.), or
- Cochrane RancheHouse (101 RancheHouse Rd.)
