(Cochrane, AB) – The Town of Cochrane is celebrating strong voter participation in the 2025 Municipal Election, with 9,757 residents casting ballots—a 40.1% voter turnout, up from 33% in 2021. This increase reflects our community’s continued commitment to civic engagement and shaping Cochrane’s future.
Ballot counting resumed early this morning after pausing at midnight to ensure staff could remain alert and focused. An update on the count will be provided at noon today.
This year, provincial changes require all ballots to be hand counted, extending the process and impacting the timing of results. While some municipalities have released unofficial results, Cochrane remains focused on accuracy and transparency.
