(Cochrane, AB.) - The Town of Cochrane has launched a new online pet licensing system, making it faster and easier for residents to register and renew their pets.
The updated system offers a simpler, more intuitive experience with secure online payments. Existing customer accounts have been seamlessly migrated, so residents can log in and continue without starting over.
Pet licensing plays an important role in keeping Cochrane’s pets safe. A current license helps reunite lost pets faster and supports community services such as dog parks, waste stations, local enforcement, and humane services.
“This new system makes pet licensing quick and easy for residents, while helping us reunite lost pets faster and support the services our community relies on,” says Flynn Scott, Manager of Municipal Enforcement. “It’s a simple step that makes a big difference for pets and their owners.”
The new system reflects a fresh look and improved functionality, while maintaining the Town’s ongoing commitment to pet safety and responsible ownership. The new system makes online payments seamless, but if fees need to be paid via cash or cheque those are still acceptable at The Station or The Cochrane RancheHouse.
2026 pet licence fees are now active and available for payment. All pet licences are issued on a calendar-year basis (January 1–December 31). Fines may be imposed for failing to obtain a licence.
