Temporary road closure

Beginning August 10, 2026, Professional Excavators and Construction Inc. will complete sanitary and water tie-in work, this work will require a temporary road closure 

Construction will include the removal and replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks and paving, as well as sanitary and water connections to the main on Pope Avenue.

Traffic impacts: Work will require a temporary road closure on Pope Avenue between Sibbald Street and 1 Street. Please watch for construction signage and use caution when travelling through the area. 

Construction schedule:
August 10 at 7 a.m. to August 16 at 7 p.m. The schedule is based on favourable weather conditions.  If conditions change, the schedule may be subject to change.

August 6 - 11River Avenue and Griffin Road

River Avenue and Griffin Road traffic signal improvements

Beginning August 6, 2026, crews will install advanced left-turn signals at River Avenue and Griffin Road, with activation expected by approximately August 11.

The new signals will provide protected northbound and southbound left turns, improving safety for drivers and pedestrians. A leading pedestrian interval will also give pedestrians a five-second head start before vehicles receive a green light.

Traffic impacts: Significant impacts are not anticipated. Work will primarily take place from the boulevard or within a partial lane, allowing traffic to continue flowing.

Construction schedule:
August 6 to approximately August 11, 2026

July 2026Fourth Avenue North 

The sidewalk along the Fourth Avenue retaining wall North is temporarily closed to allow warranty repairs to the concrete surface on the wall.

During construction, pedestrians will be directed along a detour route through the surrounding neighborhood and Kerfoot Park. Please follow all posted signage. 

Please note that access may change as work progresses and weather conditions may impact the construction schedule.
