This work is part of the Town's ongoing efforts to maintain reliable water services and plan for future infrastructure needs. Where will work take place? Crews will be working in six areas, with temporary impacts to nearby pathways, parking and traffic:
What work is being completed? Crews will excavate areas to access underground pipes and install access points for specialized inspection equipment. Vacuum trucks will support excavation at George Fox Trail, Riviera Way and Riviera Park. These inspections will help the Town assess the condition of the pipes, identify potential issues and plan for future maintenance and repairs. What can residents expect? Work is expected to begin October 19 and take approximately four weeks to complete. Work at individual locations will occur within this period, with timing dependent on contractor scheduling and crew availability. Residents can expect temporary pathway and parking restrictions, as well as traffic control at George Fox Trail and Riviera Way. Signs and barriers will identify affected areas and available alternate routes. No water service interruptions are anticipated during this work. Once inspections are complete, crews will restore the affected areas. Depending on weather conditions, some landscaping may be completed in spring 2027. Why is this work important? Regular inspections help the Town better understand the condition of critical water infrastructure, identify issues early and make informed decisions about future maintenance and investment. | Starting October 7, 2026 | Heritage Gate and Heritage Drive – West Hawk Phase 4 | West Hawk Phase 4 waterline connection Crews will be connecting the new West Hawk Phase 4 waterline to Cochrane’s existing water system at the intersection of Heritage Gate and Heritage Drive. During this work, one lane will be temporarily closed. Traffic will continue through the intersection, with flaggers directing vehicles in both directions. A temporary pedestrian detour will also be in place to safely guide people around the construction area. |
| September 8-25 | Centre Avenue and First Street | Centre Avenue concrete repairs Concrete warranty work is underway at the intersection of Centre Avenue and First Street, with crews working between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Recent rainfall has impacted the construction schedule, extending the timeline for the concrete repairs. Crews will continue working to complete the repairs as conditions allow. While work is underway: Following the concrete repairs, the final surface layer of asphalt will be placed. This work is scheduled to begin on September 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. over two days.
