Receive, pay and manage your animal licence

All dogs and cats over three months old must have a current Cochrane animal licence and wear it when off your property. Licences help Animal Services quickly return lost animals and ensure your furry loved one is recognized as part of a family, not a stray.

To register a new animal, complete the online Animal licence application form.

Annual renewal and updates

All pet licences are issued on a calendar-year basis (January 1–December 31). Renewal notices are sent out each year. Fines may be imposed for failing to obtain a licence.

Please keep your account up-to-date. Let us know if:

You have moved within or outside Cochrane
Your pet is no longer in your care
Your pet has been altered, tattooed or microchipped
Your pet needs a new tag

Payment methods

Each pet must be paid for individually. Choose one of the following payment options:

Online — Cochrane eServices (existing animal licences only)

Visit Cochrane eServices.
Sign in to your account.
Select “Animal Licence,” then click “Pay.”

Enter your payment details and complete the transaction.

Bank

The Town of Cochrane is registered with all major banks and credit unions.

Pay in person or through your online or telephone banking.
Add “Cochrane Animal Licence” as the payee.
Use your Animal ID# as the account number.

In person

Pay by Interac, cash, Visa, MasterCard or cheque during office hours — Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — at:
- Cochrane RancheHouse — 101 RancheHouse Rd.
- The Station at Cochrane Crossing — 360 Railway St. W.
