CP Rail - Siding Track Removal

DESCRIPTION

Canadian Pacific Railway ( CPR) removed the siding track at River avenue, Centre Avenue and Fifth avenue crossings. Cochrane is required to fund the relocation of the signal arms, rehabilitation to the road surface and pedestrian connections once the track has been removed.

BACKGROUND

As part of this project the existing crossing at River avenue has reached its service life and is becoming a hazard to vehicle traffic due to the rough surface. The existing rubber product will be replaced with pre-cast concrete to improve the crossing. In addition, there is currently no pedestrian link on the East side of River avenue through the CPR right-of-way which will be enhanced to provide more connectivity.
