Cochrane seeks feedback on future of transit at upcoming community events

Your town your transit

Cochranites are invited to provide their feedback on the future of transit service delivery in Cochrane. More than 350 residents already participated in the online survey regarding the future of transit. The survey will remain open until June 9, and residents are encouraged to take part.

In addition to the online survey, Cochrane will be hosting two in person interactive community events where users and non users of Cochrane’s On-Demand Local Transit (COLT) can share their expectations for the future of public transit.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday, May 30
Time: 4-8pm
Location: The Station: 360 Railway St. W.

Date: Saturday, June 1
Time: 9am-1pm
Location: Cochrane Farmer’s Market (outside the SLS Centre) 800 Griffin Road E.

The study aims to evaluate Cochrane’s current transit service delivery, incorporating technical assessments of the existing system, public transit best practices, insights from other communities and feedback from community engagement initiatives.

Residents play an advisory role in the project. The feedback collected will be summarized in a ‘What We Heard’ report which will be provided to Council for consideration in July. The outcomes of the study will provide Council with options on what the future of public transit could look like within varying budget parameters in the Fall of 2024.

For those unable t o attend, the survey is available until June 9 at letstalkcochrane.ca/transit
