The Cochrane Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) Advisory Board presented a detailed list of grant requests to Town Council at their meeting Monday.
Council approved a total of $99,000 in grants to local groups that fit FCSS and United Way mandates.
Twelve groups were approved for grants:
Grants were also approved for the PLC Counselling Program, Roots of Empathy and the Youth Counselling Program, but due to changes in Alberta Children’s Services funding, funds are being held until the Family Resource Network grant has been awarded. The FCSS Advisory Board will return to Council with these funding recommendations at a later date.
Cochrane FCSS and the United Way work together on grant reviews to minimize the application and reporting process. Fifteen funding applications were received for a total of $193,574 in requests for $120,000 available ($70,000 United Way Partnership and $50,000 in the Town’s approved FCSS budget).
