TOWN PREPARING FOR STAFF RE-ENTRY, PUBLIC ACCESS

The Town is getting ready for staff to return to their work locations and making plans to welcome the public back to Town facilities.

Some staff will start returning to Town facilities June 22 in a phased way; the Cochrane RancheHouse will reopen to the public with safety measures on July 6.

The staff re-entry and public reopening is being carefully planned by the Town’s Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) to keep staff and the public safe and continue to limit the spread of COVID-19. Plans include facility modifications and controls to meet Alberta Health and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Mayor Jeff Genung says the background work has been done so both staff and residents are safe. “Our ECC has carefully reviewed public health orders and considered the needs of staff and residents so we can get back to our offices safely, and so the public can do business without putting anyone at risk.”

Town facilities closed to the public and most staff began working from home in mid-March as part of the COVID-19 response and provincial health regulations.
Since then, many Town staff have continued performing their regular duties to provide Town services remotely; staff have met usual work targets and deadlines.

The Visitor Information Centre opens to the public July 2.

The Cochrane Eco Centre opened limited programs June 2 and has seen steady use with good compliance with public health measures.

Other Town facilities will be reopened in a phased way, once health and safety plans are developed. The ECC will be stood down when deemed appropriate.
