Cochrane, AB – Cochrane pet owners can expect to receive their 2022 animal licence renewal notice this week. Under the Town’s Animal Bylaw, all dogs and cats are required to be licensed.
In 2021, the Town transitioned to a standard annual renewal for all pet licenses, which supported all pet licenses being renewed in January of each year. As a result of some technology challenges, the renewal process has been delayed by one month.
“We appreciate the support of all Cochrane pet owners in renewing or acquiring a license for their pet,” said Tanya Galon, Manager of Financial Services. “Your animal license is used to reunite you with your pet if they are lost. In addition, the fees collected are used to support the waste bag dispenser program and to provide emergency care to injured animals.”
Pet owners can renew their animal license online using the Town's eServices portal. If you have recently moved to Town or have a new animal over three months of age you will require a licence.
Renewal notice notices are emailed annually, and the 2022 payment is due by February 28. Pay for your animal licence online and find more information about pet ownership at: Cochrane.ca/AnimalServices.
