April 1 is Cochrane’s official census day.
All residents who answer the census questions online are entered to win 500 Cochrane Dollars. Cochrane residents can provide their information in less than one minute.
Door hangers with unique identification information are being delivered to homes in Cochrane starting April 1; that PIN and a computer is all residents need to participate.
Computers are available at the Cochrane Public Library and FCSS for census use. Enumerators will go door to door beginning April 12 for those who haven’t responded online.
Many provincial government grants are awarded on a per capita basis —a precise census count ensures the Town receives the maximum funding the community is entitled to.
Census results will be submitted to Alberta Municipal Affairs once all the data is in; population numbers become official once the report is accepted by the province.

Residents have until April 30 to count themselves in.
