Meetings
There are two Council meetings most months, on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 6pm  (exceptions: July, August and December).

Council meetings are open to the public and are held in Council Chambers, Cochrane RancheHouse, 101 RancheHouse Road.

Agendas are available on the Friday before the meeting. Minutes are available after they are approved at the following meeting.

Online Public Hearings and Sharing Your Comments

Due to the ongoing concerns related to COVID-19, the RancheHouse is closed to the public. In the interim, public hearings for proposed bylaws and amendments will be on our live stream.

Interested parties can submit comments about the proposed changes by email in advance or during the public hearing.

Send comments to planning@cochrane.ca and quote the bylaw number in the subject line. Email submissions will be accepted until the public hearing is closed by Council.

To ask to appear before Town Council, or to place an item on a Council meeting agenda, review the Council delegation information sheet and then contact the manager of Legislative Services at 403-851-2500 or via email.

  • The office of mayor is a full time position; councillors are part-time.
  • Over 60 volunteers contribute their efforts through committee work.
