1. How do I schedule a station tour?

To schedule a station tour, please fill out a Tour Request form.

2. Is there a fire ban?

Fire ban information is displayed on our homepage under Fire Services.  Information can also be found on the electronic signs within the community, on our website, in our social media portals, and on the phone at 403-851-2540. You can also find out the fire hazard ratings in surrounding municipalities or anywhere in Alberta by visiting www.albertafirebans.ca

3. How do I dispose of household toxic waste?

A year round waste drop-off containment shed can be found at the ECO Centre. More details on household hazardous waste can be found online.

4. Can I get a home fire inspection?

Home fire inspections are not legislated under the National Fire Code.  If you have questions regarding fire or life safety within your residence, please contact 403-851-2540.  

5. Do you fill my fire extinguisher?

Cochrane Fire Services does not have the equipment nor the certification to fill fire extinguishers. Check under fire protection in the Yellow Pages.

6. Am I allowed to have a fire pit?

Yes, outdoor fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, barbecue pits or portable fire receptacles can be used year round, as long as there is no fire ban in effect that prohibits their use. As long as your fire pit, outdoor fireplace, barbecue pit or portable fire receptacle meet the guidelines outlined in the Fire Services Bylaw, you don’t need a permit. You may use your fire pit to burn clean, dry, untreated wood or charcoal, but not yard waste. You are required to have a means of extinguishing the fire on hand at all times while it is burning.
