Please be prepared with information such as the type, size and weight of vehicle being used, materials to be transported, and the length of time required to complete the work. All permits are weather dependent. There is no charge for the permit. Permits are assessed on an individual need basis.
Fishing is permitted at Mitford Pond. Mitford Pond is stocked annually with trout. Anglers 13 years old and younger are allowed to use bait and keep one trout per day. All other anglers 14 years and older, must release their catch and use single barbless hooks on their lures or flies, absolutely no bait. A license is required by any person 16 or over. There is no night or ice fishing permitted.
There are no circumstances in which stormwater ponds are safe for walking, skating or any other use: the surface may look solid, but changes underneath present a significant danger. Stormwater ponds are not formed naturally. They are specifically created to take run-off from local streets and filter it before it flows into the river.
